When a LiDAR sensor appeared alongside the cameras of the iPad Pro, we knew it wouldn’t take long to come to the iPhone as well. Sure enough, you can find it on the back of the iPhone 12 Pro, boosting autofocus speeds and unlocking new possibilities in apps. Sporting a new flat-edged design with PVD-coated surgical steel sides, the Pro is powered by the A14 Bionic processor with 5G networking. The camera system in the Pro includes a 13mm ultra-wide, an f/1.6 wide-angle, and 52mm telephoto cameras; the Pro Max gets a larger wide-angle sensor with sensor-shift image stabilization and a longer 65mm telephoto. Both models support Dolby Video HDR 4K/60fps video recording, making them the only single devices capable of recording, editing, playing, and sharing Dolby Video footage. Like the standard 12, it also supports MagSafe for more reliable wireless charging and accessory attachment. Coming October 23rd, in blue, graphite, gold, and silver.
