Viewers are used to watching Dan Walker, 43, inform us of all the latest and breaking news going on nationally and internationally on BBC Breakfast on weekdays, but this time he divulged something very different. Away from the big news of the day, Dan told a more personal story, one that left Scott Mills and Emily Atack very intrigued.
“When I used to travel the country…” he suddenly paused.
“I sound like I’ve been on tour!” the presenter joked as the team burst out laughing.
Fellow guest Emily joked: “When I was in a band! The good old days…”
Dan roared with laughter before continuing his story: “When I used to be a full time commentator, I used to travel to Portsmouth on Friday night and then up to Sunderland, all over the place!
“Sometimes you’d get stuck in traffic and get caught short.”
And by caught short, he means needing the toilet and not physically being able to get to one – something he believes we’ve all experience at some point in our lives.
Scott asked: “What was your tip there Dan?” intrigued by what was coming next.
Before anyone else could reply, Emily sighed: “Oh God,” a response fans on Twitter thought was hilarious.
After sharing the clip on the social media site, Dan wrote: “I blame @scott_mills & @EmAtack for this (and @Chris_Stark even though he wasn’t there) #Lenor #SafeAsHouses.”
Listeners couldn’t hack the honest admission, taking to the comments section to tease the BBC presenter.
“I’ll never look at Lenor in the same way again,” one laughed.
