McLaughlin and Australian tuning garage Herrod have teamed up to deliver one of the meanest Mustangs the Southern hemisphere has ever seen. This car is based off of the 5.0-liter V8 GT and adds a boatload of power to the wheels via a Whipple supercharger with improved internals, a larger and more efficient intercooler, a larger throttle body, high capacity fuel injectors and a high flow fuel pump amongst others. The end result is a power output of 764 horsepower and 597 lb-ft of torque.
“We started development with a base GT with Magnaride suspension only,” said Rob Herrod. “The key thing is the Whipple supercharger, which is a world first. It looks like a regular Whipple, but internally it is completely different. The key is the throttle response, but it also makes big number,” he concluded.
